Mastercard and BVNK just rolled out the Global Money Platform, a single-application programming interface (API) system that lets banks, fintechs, and enterprises hold, convert, and move both traditional currencies and stablecoins under one roof.
The Thursday, October 15, 2026 launch marks the first major product to emerge from Mastercard’s August acquisition of BVNK, and it puts BVNK’s stablecoin engine at the centre of everyday financial infrastructure.
What Exactly Does the BVNK-Powered Global Money Platform Offer?
BVNK supplies the core stablecoin rails while Mastercard contributes its global payments network and Mastercard Move service.
Companies can embed multi-currency accounts that keep fiat and stablecoins side by side, convert between them in real time, issue stablecoin-linked cards, and push payouts straight into local bank accounts.
Early adopters include Nuvei, Marqeta, Ontop, Bolt Group, and Almond FinTech.
Think of a manufacturer collecting invoices in several currencies and paying suppliers worldwide.
Until now, that firm juggled separate accounts, pre-funded balances, and multiple vendors.
With BVNK’s infrastructure inside the Global Money Platform, the same company manages liquidity from one place and switches freely between dollars, euros, and stablecoins without stitching together half a dozen providers.

How Does BVNK Help Businesses Move Money Across Borders Faster?
Mastercard Move already reaches more than 17 billion endpoints. By linking BVNK’s stablecoin balances to that network, users can fund a payment in digital dollars and deliver local currency directly into a recipient’s bank account.
Coverage is set to expand beyond 40 currencies across 200-plus countries and territories in 2027.
At the same time, cardholders can spend those same stablecoin balances at hundreds of millions of Mastercard acceptance points, with issuing available in more than 130 countries.
BVNK’s technology therefore removes the old friction of separate on-ramps, off-ramps, and settlement rails.
Businesses start with the modules they need today and add more later, keeping their own brand in front of customers.

Why Is BVNK’s Role in the Multi-Money Future So Important?
Chris Harmse, BVNK co-founder and chief business officer, put it plainly: the platform becomes the single infrastructure layer not just for stablecoins but for every form of money.
Raj Dhamodharan, Mastercard’s executive vice president for blockchain and digital assets, added that the future of commerce rests on interoperability across traditional and digital ecosystems.
Looking deep into the future, the stack already prepares for agentic commerce and tokenized deposits.
BVNK’s proven ability to move value in seconds across 130-plus countries gives enterprises the compliance, speed, and modularity they need without building everything from scratch.
In short, BVNK turns what used to be a patchwork of crypto and banking tools into one coherent operating layer.
Banks and fintechs can now treat stablecoins as just another balance on the same ledger as fiat, and that shift is already live through BVNK.
