Circle just revealed a striking figure that reshapes how the industry views stablecoin economics.
In the first half of 2026, the company shared roughly $819 million with more than 150 distribution partners and covered related transaction costs.
That payout represents about 59 cents of every revenue dollar Circle generated during the period.
Meanwhile, USDC handled more than $36 trillion in on-chain settlement volume and processed over $315 billion in mint and redemption activity—nearly $1.7 billion every single day.

How Does Circle Actually Share USDC Economics With Partners?
Circle structures its model so partners that grow balances earn a portion of the reserve income those balances produce.
The more USDC a partner brings onto its platform, the larger its share becomes.
Coinbase, for example, reported average USDC holdings of $20 billion in the second quarter, up 44% year over year (YoY).
Beyond that, single relationship, Binance signed a five-year commercial agreement and invested $100 million in Circle, while more than 150 other wallets, exchanges, fintechs, banks, and payment networks participate in the same economic loop.
In parallel, partners that route payment flows through the Circle Payments Network or build on Circle’s platform can redeem USDC for free with near-real-time settlement.

Why Does Circle Hand Over Such a Large Share of Revenue?
Circle generated approximately $1.4 billion in revenue in the first half of 2026.
After sending $819 million to partners, the company reinvested about $473 million—roughly 34 cents of every dollar—into licenses, banking relationships, settlement liquidity, compliance programs, and blockchain integrations. Only seven cents remained as net profit.
That reinvestment keeps USDC functional across more than 35 blockchains, supports 55-plus licenses and registrations, and maintains relationships with more than 25 partner banks so redemptions can clear even when traditional systems are closed.

What Makes Free Redemption Possible at This Scale?
Every Circle customer can already redeem USDC at no cost through standard banking rails, typically within two business days.
Customers using the Circle Payments Network or qualified platform products now enjoy free near-real-time settlement around the clock.
Circle holds substantial cash liquidity at its bank partners specifically to support this capability, absorbing the lower yield that comes with keeping funds immediately available.
By June 2026, USDC carried roughly 77% of all global stablecoin transaction volume, up from 60% a year earlier.

How Does This Model Drive Wider Adoption?
Partners earn when they grow USDC usage. That growth funds further infrastructure.
A more reliable digital dollar then attracts additional developers, businesses, and users. The cycle has held through multiple market cycles since USDC launched in 2018.
Circle’s latest disclosures show a clear priority: share the majority of economics with the network that drives adoption, keep redemptions free, and reinvest the rest into the infrastructure that makes a stablecoin useful at global scale.
